What's new in Ovida (11 August 2026)

Roleplays now start faster, remember how you were practising, and build properly on the meetings you launch them from.

New and improved

Roleplay scenarios are ready sooner. Scenario generation now runs on a faster model, so the wait between choosing what you want to practise and starting the conversation is noticeably shorter, including for long meetings. While a scenario is being built you will also see a short rolling message describing what Ovida is putting together for you, so the wait is less of a blank screen.

Practising with someone from a meeting now builds on that meeting. When you choose Roleplay with a person from a meeting transcript, the practice session is now shaped by that meeting. Scenario seed options are hidden and the scenario description summarises the conversation you launched from, so you rehearse the situation you were actually in rather than a generic one.

Redo keeps you in the mode you were practising in. Choosing Redo at the end of a roleplay now restarts the session in the same mode you just used. If you were practising in text you stay in text, and your AI partner opens the conversation as it should.

Your AI practice partner now hangs up. When the AI ends a roleplay, you will hear a short hang-up tone before the end-of-session options appear. It is a small thing that makes the close of a conversation feel more like a real call. The tone plays only when the AI ends the session, not when you end it yourself.

Your profile has moved to the bottom left. Your profile picture, and the menu behind it including Log out, now sits at the bottom of the left sidebar next to Settings rather than in the top-right corner. Everything inside the menu is unchanged.

You can now see which version of Ovida you are using. Open your profile menu and you will find the app version at the bottom. Click it to copy it. If a newer version has been released while you had Ovida open, you will see a New version available! prompt with the option to refresh. Quoting the version when you contact support helps us pinpoint an issue much faster.

Meeting review is now a large-screen experience. The meeting review page is dense and detailed, and it was never designed for a phone. Opening it on a phone now shows a short message asking you to open it on a tablet or computer instead. Everything else in Ovida still works on mobile.

Fixes and improvements

This release also includes a set of smaller fixes and polish across roleplays, skills, meetings and uploads. Roleplay setup screens are wider and lay out more consistently, skill charts show more of your recent sessions, chat messages sit on the correct side of the conversation, panel icons now match across the app, and file uploads report their status more clearly. None of this changes how you work. It simply makes the day to day smoother.
