What's new in Ovida (19 June 2026)

A roundup of what shipped this week, from a refreshed roleplay experience to clearer meeting uploads, more precise scores, and a batch of fixes across the app.

New and improved

Roleplays now look and feel like a video call. The roleplay screen has been reworked to resemble a familiar video-meeting layout, with participant tiles and call-style controls, so practising a conversation feels less like chatting with an interface and more like being in the room. Your scenarios, scoring, and roleplay logic are unchanged.

A new loading animation across the app. The Ovida logo spinner now replaces placeholder text like "thinking..." and the older loading icons, including while a meeting or roleplay is being scored. It is a small change that makes waiting moments feel more consistent and on-brand.

Scores now show their true value. Average scores for meetings and roleplays are no longer rounded to the nearest 0.5. You will now see scores to two decimal places, so small, real improvements in your performance show up clearly instead of being hidden until you cross a half-point threshold.

See how each meeting was created. The Meetings list now includes a Source column showing how each meeting came into Ovida, whether it was a normal meeting, a live recording, or an uploaded transcript, audio, or video file.

Clearer upload options. When you add a meeting, the upload buttons now read Upload Audio / Video and Upload Transcript instead of a single, unclear "Upload File", so it is obvious which option to choose.

Smoother uploads inside a Skill. When you upload a meeting or transcript from within a Skill, it is now automatically assigned to that Skill's team, and the extra "Share with skill?" confirmation popup has been removed. Fewer steps, fewer clicks.

For team admins: In the skill assignment view, skills are now sorted by the date they were added, and any skill not yet assigned to a team shows a grey 0 TEAM badge so unassigned skills are easier to spot.

Fixes and improvements

This release also includes smaller fixes and polish across uploads, scoring, live recording, and roleplay review, including more reliable uploads and steadier score displays.

Getting help

The Help Centre has a new home. Our Help Centre now lives at support.ovida.io. Any old help.ovida.io links will redirect there automatically, so your existing bookmarks will still work.

Finding help inside the app. The separate Help Centre link has been removed from the app. To find articles and answers, use the in-app chat widget, which can search the same help content without taking you out of Ovida.
