What's new in Ovida (3 July 2026)

This release brings a redesigned skill page, automatic security scanning for uploaded files, and a smoother experience across meetings, uploads, and live recording.

New and improved

A redesigned skill page. The page you see when you open a skill now uses a two-panel layout. Your conversation with Ovid stays on the left, and a new context panel on the right brings together your linked meetings and roleplays, your scores, and a progress chart that plots each attempt in order. A "What next" section suggests one clear action to raise your score, based on your latest scored session, with buttons to practise your weakest areas or add a meeting. The context panel starts collapsed, so open it when you want the detail. Scorecards now use a single calm colour scheme rather than red-to-green colouring, and your score level name sits directly under your score.

Uploaded files are now scanned for viruses and malware. When you upload a meeting recording or transcript, Ovida now automatically scans the file before processing begins. You will see a short scanning status after the upload finishes. If a file fails the scan, Ovida stops the upload and shows an error. Clean files continue exactly as before; most scans take only a few seconds.

Cleaner guest suggestions. When you type a guest's details while scheduling a meeting, inviting someone to your Personal Meeting Room, uploading a file, or setting up a live recording, contacts without a saved name now show just their email address instead of the email repeated twice. Searching still works on any part of the email address. Contact suggestions in these screens also load more reliably for accounts with many contacts.

Meetings and uploads

MOV files are no longer an accepted format for meeting uploads. If your recording is a MOV file, convert it to MP4 before uploading. Meetings over three hours in length and joining from a desktop browser are also now handled more smoothly.

Fixes and improvements

This release also includes smaller fixes and polish across skills, live recording, and the app, including clearer messages when something needs your attention and improved Vietnamese and Japanese translations.
