What’s new in Ovida? (May 2026)
Last updated: May 11, 2026
This release includes a redesigned Skills page, Live Recording admin controls, smarter skill scoring visibility, an improved file upload flow, and new team dashboard metrics.
Skills page redesign
The Skills page has been rebuilt. All your skills: active, available, and completed. Now live on a single page with filter controls at the top. Previously, skills were split across multiple tabs.
What’s changed:
One page, three filters. Use the status filter (Active / Available / Completed) to switch between your skill sets.
Improved skill cards. Cards now show your meeting and roleplay score badges, a sparkline of score progress, and an active duration (e.g. “Active: 1 month”) instead of a start date.
Available skills have a Start button. Skills assigned to you that you haven’t begun now show a clear “Start” call to action.
Skill Library has moved. Admins can now find the Skill Library under Settings — accessible from the hexagon icon at the bottom of the left navigation bar.
Skill scores are easier to find and understand
Several improvements make it faster to access and interpret your scores.
View scores link in chat. After a session is analysed, the AI coach’s summary message now includes a “View scores” link. Click it to open your score breakdown without navigating away.
Score tooltip improvements. Hovering over a score badge now shows a progress bar with level markers (Novice through Master), individual criterion scores, and a “View details” button that opens the full Mastery Scorecard.
Accurate sparkline scaling. The score trend chart on skill cards now scales its Y-axis to the full 1–5 range, so your progress is always shown in context.
Live Recording admin controls
Coaching Admins have two new controls in the Admin Portal under Org Settings → Meeting.
Enable or disable Live Recording per organisation. A new toggle controls whether Live Recording is available to all users in your org. It defaults to on.
Customise the consent email message. You can now write a custom message that appears in the consent email sent to participants before a live session. Set it once and it applies to all outgoing consent emails for your organisation.
Improved file upload flow
The “Finalize meeting details” modal that appears after uploading a recording has been redesigned for clarity.
Meeting date/time and team are now at the top of the form.
You can now select a participant from your contacts list — the name auto-populates. Manual entry is still supported.
The layout is now mobile-friendly.
Team dashboard — new metrics
Admins and coaches can now see more performance data directly on the team dashboard.
Roleplay and meeting scores per user. Individual scores for each user’s roleplay and meeting sessions are now visible on the team dashboard — no need to navigate into each user’s profile.
Total meeting hours. The user engagement stats section now includes total meeting hours, giving you a view of how actively each user is using the platform for real coaching conversations.
Prevent duplicate skill activations
Ovida now blocks duplicate skill launches to keep session data clean.
If you try to start a skill that’s already active, you’ll see a clear message: “You have this skill active already.”
If an admin tries to assign a skill to someone who already has it active, the system shows “[Name] has this skill active already” and blocks the duplicate.
Bug fixes and reliability
This release also includes a number of fixes across Live Recording, Skills, and the platform generally.
Live Recording: Fixed an issue where the recording timer would show incorrect elapsed time after pausing and resuming. Fixed the participant email field incorrectly showing a previous session’s value. Fixed a ghost “Resume Recording” button appearing after a session was deleted.
Live Recording on mobile: Fixed layout issues on iPad and phones in landscape mode, including overlapping elements and a non-scrollable action menu.
Live Recording: Users whose team subscription has expired now see a clear message explaining why they can’t start a recording.
Skills: Fixed an issue where the microphone could not be accessed during a roleplay session. Fixed the error message shown when OS-level microphone access is blocked — it now says “Microphone Permission Denied” rather than the generic “Connection Error”.
Skills: Fixed sparkline chart scaling on skill cards.
Skills: Fixed user mention dropdown being hidden behind chat bubbles in the skill view.
Skills: Fixed team name overlapping participant avatars on skill cards.
Skills: Skill counts now correctly reflect Active and Completed filter state.
Platform: Fixed a “Tailor your coaching” popup that was incorrectly appearing on every page refresh.
