How do I control which activities a team can use?

Open your team, go to the Team activities tab, and switch each activity on or off for that team. Anything your organisation has not enabled stays locked.

Where to find it

Open the team from Settings, then My Team, then Joined Teams, and select the Team activities tab. Team owners and team admins can change these settings. Organisation owners and admins can do so for any team in the organisation.

VERIFY: the exact navigation path to a team page after the Settings consolidation, and whether the tab is labelled "Team activities".

The activities you can control

Each activity can be switched on or off independently for the team:

• Transcript upload

• Audio/video upload

• Live audio

• Video room

• Text roleplay

• Voice roleplay

• Skills

An activity switched on shows as selected. An activity switched off shows greyed out and crossed through.

⚠️ Switching Skills off also switches off Text roleplay and Voice roleplay, because both run inside a skill. Switching Skills back on does not switch the two roleplay activities back on, so turn them on again if you want them.

Activities your organisation has not enabled

Some activities are set at organisation level and cannot be changed here. Those appear greyed out with a padlock, and the note next to them reads that the activity is not enabled for your organisation. To change that, email support@ovida.org.

What your members see

A member who tries to start an activity that is switched off for their team sees a short line naming the activity and the team, at the point they try to start rather than after they have filled anything in. If the activity is not enabled for the whole organisation, the message says that instead.

Members who already have a skill in progress can still open it and complete it when Skills is switched off for the team. Only starting something new is blocked.

💡 Tip A new team starts with every activity enabled, except Avatar roleplay, which starts off.
